Lawson Farms is a multi-generation family farm.  We are located on the Spencer/Nelson County line just a few miles north of Bloomfield, KY and in our opinion one of the most beautiful areas of Spencer and Nelson Counties!  We began farming here in 2005, but our family's farming heritage spans five generations in the central Kentucky area.  An appreciation for hard work, a love of farming, and a desire to do the best job possible in caring for our land and livestock is something that has been handed down from generation to generation.  Through the years our farm business has relied heavily on growing and marketing high quality cattle and burley tobacco.  This was no less the case for Wanda and I, as we began our farming career in partnership with my parents, Murrell and Kitty in 2005.  Lawson Farms truly is a family affair!  We have been blessed with work that allows us to grow and market great food for people to enjoy.  Currently, we raise and market high quality Big Springs Beef, black angus and angus cross cattle, and corn and soybeans for grain.

Lawson Farm's Big Springs Beef.  A commitment to quality and good stewardship is at the core of what we do.  Big Springs Beef is a product of these values.  After years of growing and harvesting cattle for our own family to enjoy at meal time, we made the decision to offer high quality beef to others!  It didn't take long for us to realize we had something good as customer after customer responded favorably, encouraging us to "keep growing great food!"

"RAISING CATTLE, CROPS, & KIDS"
Nathan and Wanda Lawson’s family farms in Spencer and northern Nelson County, Kentucky where they raise beef cattle, corn, soybeans, and their four kids. They farm just over 900 acres where they run 125 head of momma cows and background cattle.

Nathan and Wanda both graduated from the University of Kentucky where they met. Having both been raised in multi-generational farm families, Nathan said their family ties and involvement in 4-H and FFA set the foundation for them to farm, “It sowed the seeds of love for agriculture in both Wanda and I’s hearts.” There were two things the couple decided shortly after they married. One, they knew they wanted children and two, they wanted to raise them on the farm...
