How is Big Springs Beef raised?
Our Black Angus Beef is raised without the use of antibiotic feed additives, steroids, or added growth hormones.  Our cattle are pasture raised with additional feeding of high quality hay through the winter months to keep them healthy.  As our beef animals near maturity, this diet of forages is supplemented with a mix of grains grown by us on the farm.  Animal health and good husbandry practices are of the highest priority.

How can I buy Big Springs Beef?
You can buy Big Springs Beef by whole, half, quarter and eighth shares.  You can also put together your own package from our retail cuts!  Or, visit us at our Farmers Market locations listed on the "Where to Find Us" page.
*Delivery is available.

How do I know which size is right for me?
The size of your family and how frequently you enjoy eating beef will determine the order size that will best suit your needs.  Most families of four are comfortable getting a quarter. That much beef takes up about 4 cubic feet of freezer space.  Many of our customers have found other family members or friends to share a larger order with.  This allows them to purchase a larger quantity at a cheaper price.

Can I order the cuts I want?
Sure! We also offer our beef by the cut.  Just let us know if you would prefer to order in this manner and we'll be glad to send you a list of the various cuts that are available and you can create your own package.

How will I store my beef?
All of our beef is delivered frozen, vacuum packaged, and labeled.  Just drop it in the freezer.

How will my beef be processed?
The beef is processed at a USDA federally-inspected facility.  Each beef is USDA inspected.  This ensures that our product has the highest degree of food safety available.  Furthermore, it will be dry-aged at least 14 days, creating a deeper, beefier flavor, in contrast to most supermarket beef, which is usually wet-aged and for a short time, so it’s not as flavorful.  But don't take our word for it we invite you to taste and see!
